Travelstormer 101: The Basics

Last Updated: Apr 10, 2012 11:27PM BST

Prerequisites

There are none! Travelstormer is tailored especially to deal with making decisions, meaning you can create a group before you know where, when and even if your going on a trip somewhere. Just add some ideas for where and when and see if anything ends up working. There's nothing wrong with creating a group that never ends up going away, but we'd like to see you work something out!

Users

A group trip is not a group trip without freinds. You'll need to get others involved at some stage, this can happen when you first create the trip, or later on, it's up to you. You can either add friends email addresses and they will receive a unique invite, or you can open up the trip so that anyone with a special link can join. You can send this link to your friends via Email, Facebook, Twitter etc.

Making decisions with your group

You'll want to create a brainstorm for every decision that needs to be made, then start adding ideas. You group will be notified of these ideas and will be encouraged to add their own and vote for the ones they like best.

Finalising Decisions

After voting and commenting on the ideas, you'll finalise the decision and it will turn into an event in the calendar if it has dates assigned.

Other Planning Tools

Expense-tracking is going to be important if you have different members of the group buying different things. Add purchases and repayments to keep track of who owes what to who.
Messaging, Tasks and Group Itinerary also help in communicating and storing important details across the group.
