The Email-entry Invite
The most common means of inviting someone is entering their email address in the New Trip form, or from the Trip Members page.
- This creates a temporary user profile for this person, and when they sign up or log in, they will see the trip automatically because it is associated with their email address. You can see these people in the Trip Members page.
- This invite type is recommended since the friends you invite will receive email activity automatically, since we have their email address.
- The invite emails they receive will immediately give them access to the decision-making features, as well as a 'read-only' view of the rest of the trip. To use the other features, they have to create an account.
The Public Link Invite
This method of inviting people requires the trip be set to public. See Privacy help page. Essentially anyone who has the link can join the group, however since they essentially just a member of public there are limitations.- You could send this link via email, Facebook, Twitter to any number of people who then have the ability to join the group.
- Travelstormer has no knowledge of these people until they join the group, as they are completely public.
- We encourage these people to join the group to contribute and receive trip emails, however ultimately you as the person inviting them will have to take it into your own hands to make sure they do so.
